Fatal Stabbing at 6150 West Tidwell


January 5, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at 6150 West Tidwell about 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 4).

The victim, between 40 to 50 years of age, suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Biggs and Senior Police Officer K. Carr reported:

The victim was followed to the Aspen Apartments at the above location by an unknown female suspect, who was heard screaming and accusing him of stealing her purse.  The suspect followed the victim around and, near the back of the complex, she pulled a weapon out of her bag and stabbed the victim.  The victim managed to get to the entrance of the complex where he collapsed.  According to witnesses, the suspect stood over the victim and yelled at him about her purse.  She then told onlookers the victim had stolen her purse and left the scene on foot.

The suspect is described only as a black female in her 20s and wearing capri-style black pants.  She is known to live in the area.
