Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5000 Ennis


July 18, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5000 Ennis about 11 p.m. on Sunday (July 17).

The victim, Silas Albert, 22, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Padilla and Senior Police Officer R. Bolton reported:

A Texas Southern University police officer was driving home from work when he heard a woman screaming.  The officer stopped to investigate and discovered Mr. Albert lying dead on the sidewalk.  The officer then notified HPD’s Homicide Division.

There is no known motive, nor suspect(s), in the shooting at this time.
