Suspect Charged, Sought in Fatal Shooting at 6300 Thornwall


July 24, 2011 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 6300 Thornwall about 1:30 a.m. today (July 24).

The suspect, Conrado "Conrad" Calderas (H/m, DOB: 10-1-87), is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court.  A photo of Calderas, who remains at large, is attached to this news release.

The victim, Guadalupe Molina, Jr., suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported by private vehicle to Spring Branch Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Officers J. Sosa and E. Castaneda reported:

The victim and suspect were attending a party at 6347 Thornwall when a fight broke out and spilled into the street.  The suspect produced a pistol and fired shots into the air before pointing the weapon at Mr. Molina and firing one time.  The bullet struck Molina in the chest and he collapsed in the street.  The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

Further investigation identified Conrado Calderas as the suspect in this case.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
