HPD Chief McClelland Discusses Drugs and Gangs with Teens

March 15, 2011 - The Houston Police Department's (HPD) Youth-Police Advisory Council (Y-PAC) recently sat down with HPD Chief Charles A. McClelland, Jr. to discuss drugs and gangs with the Chief.

The teens took part in dialogue with the Chief, peers and local experts on the dangers of drugs and joining gangs.  They were able to participate in a question and answer session and freely discuss their views on the topics with Chief McClelland.  In turn, they were able to learn from Chief McClelland the dangers of participating in these activities.

Y-PAC is a select group of Houston area high school students that meets five times during the year and interacts with Chief McClelland and other top HPD officials.  The group addresses issues affecting youth in schools and communities and also participates in community service projects through the city.
