Suspects Arrested in Assault of HPD Officer at 16311 Vallejo Drive

May 2, 2011 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the aggravated assault of a Houston police officer and attempted robbery at 16311 Vallejo Drive about 4 a.m. on Sunday (May 1).

The suspects, Thaddeus Neil Guillory (b/m, DOB: 6-16-77) and Anthony Jermaine Manuel (b/m, DOB: 12-23-86), are charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony and impersonating a police officer.  The charges were filed by the Fort County Bend County District Attorney's Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Brooks, C. Cegielski and Major Offenders Division Senior Police Officer U. Hernandez reported:

Guillory, Manuel and a third male, posing as police officers and wearing gold badges, forced their way into a residence at the above location, threatened a female, 27, in the residence and demanded money and narcotics.  An HPD patrol unit drove by the location and investigated the suspects' vehicle as it was parked in the street unoccupied, with the dome light on and the door slightly open.  The suspects looked out the window, saw the officers and then fled out the rear of the residence.  The female and her children managed to escape unharmed.  As responding HPD patrol vehicles pursued them, one of the suspects fired a shot at the officers, but no one was struck.  Guillory and Manuel were later found hiding in the area and were taken into custody.  A third male was questioned and released without charges, pending further investigation.  The suspects were transported to the Fort Bend County Jail.

The investigation is continuing.
