May 5, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4900 block of Kelley about 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday (May 4).

The male victim, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Wilson and Senior Police Officer A. Mock reported:

The driver of a maroon GMC pickup truck was traveling eastbound in the 4900 block of Kelley when a pedacyclist (victim), also traveling eastbound on Kelley, made an unsafe lane change.  The GMC then struck the pedacyclist, who died at the scene.

No charges have been filed at this time.  The investigation is continuing.
