May 9, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6100 block of the Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 3:30 a.m. today (May 9).

The female victim, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer K. Will reported:

The female was driving a white Ford Explorer on the northbound service road of the Southwest Freeway when she hit a curb, then the freeway retaining wall and a support beam.  The female died at the scene.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in this incident.
