UPDATE: HPD Seeks Person of Interest in Fatal Stabbing at 2505 Broadway


May 18, 2011 - Houston police are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in the fatal stabbing of a woman at 2505 Broadway about 11:45 p.m. on April 17.

Mario Alberto Garcia-Trejo (H/m, DOB: 9-25-81), is wanted for questioning in the death of Estrella Hernandez Flores, also known as “Nelly.”  He is not charged in the incident.  A photo of Garcia-Trejo is attached to this news release.

Ms. Flores, 36, of Houston, suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants E. Cisneros and C. Howard reported:

A citizen called police to report a person down at the Broadway Park Apartments at the above address.  Officers arrived and discovered Ms. Flores with multiple stab wounds to her body.  Paramedics transported her to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Further investigation identified Garcia-Trejo as Flores’ boyfriend.  Investigators want to speak with him in this case.

Investigators are also looking for Garcia-Trejo's car, a 2002 Gray Ford Escape, unknown license plate, believed to have been sold to an unknown individual by a person known only as "Cachis."
