Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4250 West 34th Street

November 7, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting at 4250 West 34th Street about 3:35 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 5).

The victim, Derrick Tyrone Williams, 40, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Officer M. Chaney reported:

Mr. Williams and another male were arguing in the apartment complex courtyard when the suspect went into his apartment, retrieved a gun, and returned to the courtyard.  The two then continued their argument, at which time the suspect shot Williams one time.  The suspect then fled the scene.
