Investigation into Shooting of Male at 7502 Clarewood

November 21, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7502 Clarewood about 10:40 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 19).

The victim, Julio Perez, 18, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers T. Hufstedler and D. Arnold reported:

Mr. Perez was walking in the 7500 block of Clarewood after leaving the "Nuestra Raza" nightclub.  A green or maroon sedan, possibly a Mitsubishi or Nissan, drove by and someone from inside the vehicle fired shots at Perez.  The vehicle fled the scene.  A second male, whose identity is not known to investigators, was with Perez when he was shot, but fled the scene before police officers arrived.  That male is being sought by investigators as a possible witness in the incident.
