Investigation into Male Found Deceased at 600 North York

October 20, 2011 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 600 North York about 10:40 a.m. today.

The victim is identified as John Gilbert Hoyt, 31, address unknown. Mr. Hoyt's cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. V. McPherson and Senior Police Officer T. W. Miller reported:

Mr. Hoyt was found in Buffalo Bayou near the York Street overpass. There were no obvious signs of trauma found on Hoyt, who was believed to be homeless.

At this time, it has not been determined if foul play was a factor in Hoyt's death.
