Update: Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 11755 Southlake Drive #2803

October 24, 2011 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 11755 Southlake Drive #2803 about noon last Thursday (Oct. 20).

Freddie Clark, Jr. (b/m, DOB: 12-15-82) is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. As no current mug shot of Clark is available, a prior photo of him is attached to this news release.

The victim, Matthew David Johnson, 47, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Officers J. French and K. McDonald reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the Crescent Park Apartments at the above location and found Mr. Johnson deceased in the living room of his apartment. Further investigation and witness statements identified Clark as a person of interest in this case.

On Friday (Oct. 21), investigators received a tip as to Clark's whereabouts. He was arrested without incident and subsequently charged in this case.
