Fatal Shooting at 9600 Crofton

September 6, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 9600 Crofton about 10 p.m. last Friday (Sept. 2).

The suspect, Charles Piercefield, Jr., 30, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people, a male and a female, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Officers L. Carballo, R. Lujan and D. Price reported:

Three individuals drove to an apartment complex parking lot at the above location to meet with Piercefield to purchase narcotics.  When the individuals arrived, Piercefield pulled out a pistol and attempted to rob them.  A struggle over the weapon ensued and, at some point, the weapon discharged, fatally striking Piercefield.  The female driver of the vehicle and her male passenger received non-life threatening injuries.

This case will be presented to the Harris County District Attorney's Office for review.
