September 7, 2011 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in the investigation into the fatal shooting of a man found at 1621 Upland about 2:30 p.m. last Saturday (Sept. 3).

The victim, Matthew Mehdi Rouhani, 61, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no known suspect at this time.  However, investigators are asking for help in locating Mr. Rouhani's vehicle, a light blue, four-door 2009 Honda Fit with Texas license plates BG1Z-133.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer R. Swainson and Officer C. Sturdivant reported:

Mr. Rouhani had not been seen since last Tuesday (Aug. 30) and his employees became worried after repeated attempts to contact him were not successful.  Employees forced entry into Rouhani's business at the above location and found him deceased.  Further investigation determined Rouhani's vehicle was stolen from the location.

Robbery is believed to be the motive in the shooting.

Anyone with information on the stolen vehicle's location or a suspect in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
