September 19, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1200 block of Bering Drive about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 18).

The identity of the deceased male and female victims, both 26 years old and of Houston, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Perrotte reported:

Witnesses stated the male victim was driving a white Chevrolet Camaro at a high rate of speed southbound on Bering Drive when the vehicle hit a curb, went onto a sidewalk, hit a small lightpole, a townhome complex entrance gate keypad and then a brick wall.  The impact ejected the male driver.  He and the female were pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
