Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 11900 Northwest Freeway

April 2, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 11900 block of the Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 1:10 p.m. last Friday (March 30).


The male victim, 26, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer C. Tosso reported:

The victim was operating a black Can Am Spider motorcycle eastbound on the service road of the Northwest Freeway at a high rate of speed when he swerved to avoid hitting a large vehicle. The victim then struck a curb, lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown from the vehicle, hitting several parked cars. No other persons nor vehicles were involved in this accident.
