Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3217 Lee

August 7, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3217 Lee about 11:05 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 6).


The victim, Jimmy Earl Wooten, 36, of Houston, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Jewell and Senior Police Officer M. Miller reported:

Mr. Wooten was ouside on the street at the above address when he was approached by two unknown male suspects. Both suspects then made unknown demands and, at some point, one of the suspects fired a shot and struck Wooten. As the shooter fled the area, he fired several more shots. At this time, it has not been determined if the gunfire was directed at Wooten or any possible witnesses in the area. Wooten was then transported to the hospital.

The suspects, described only as two black males, fled the scene in a blue or black Chevrolet Tahoe.
