Investigation into Man's Death at 2327 Saxon

August 27, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the apparent suicide of an aggravated assault suspect at 2327 Saxon about 7:15 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 27).


The male suspect, 52, of Houston, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The suspect's wife, 47, was also wounded in this incident and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant Z. Becker and Officer T. Andrade reported:

Patrol officers responding to a shooting call at the above address found the female victim nearby. She had been shot by her husband, the suspect, during a domestic argument. Investigating patrol officers were then confronted by the suspect who was armed with a pistol. Members of the HPD SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Team were then called in and attempted to obtain the suspect's peaceful surrender. The suspect was later found deceased inside the residence by HPD SWAT officers.

The investigation is continuing.
