HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Howard and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported:

Mr. Kuentz was working in his office at the Mac Haik Dealership at the above location when Grimmett, also an employee of the dealership, walked into Kuentz's office and confronted him about a meeting the two men had the previous day (Nov 29). Without provocation, Grimmett shot Kuentz and fled the scene. Kuentz was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
