Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 6700 South Loop East

December 17, 2012 - Houston police have arrested and charged a suspect in a fatal traffic accident at 6700 South Loop East about 1:30 p.m. last Friday (Dec. 14).


The suspect, Roberto Trevino (H/m, DOB: 12-6-72) is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. A photo of Trevino is attached to this news release.

Trevino's daughter, Chloe Trevino, 4, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer O. Bledsoe reported:

Trevino was driving a black Mistubishi Montero sport utility vehicle westbound on the 610 South Loop near Telephone Road when, according to a witness, he swerved into grass along the right shoulder of the roadway. Trevino then attempted to re-enter the freeway but lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. The child was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Trevino was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
