Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6217 Batterson

February 27, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6217 Batterson about 1 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 25).

Linda Darnice Dorsey (b/f, DOB: 11-28-56) is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.  She is accused in the killing of Harold Lewis Bacon, 64, of Houston.  A photo of Dorsey is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Wilson and C. Elliott reported:

Dorsey initially told officers she woke up about 10 a.m. on Saturday and discovered Mr. Bacon, her boyfriend, unresponsive in her residence at the above location.  Paramedics arrived and observed Bacon was deceased with a gunshot wound.

Investigators met with Dorsey again later and she admitted to shooting Bacon as he arrived at her residence about 1 a.m.  She claimed she waited til 10 a.m. to call 911 so she could be with Bacon during that time.  In that span of nine hours, Dorsey attempted to clean up the crime scene.
