Suspect Sought in Woman's Death at 14935 South Richmond

January 1, 2012 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted in the death of a woman found at 14935 South Richmond Avenue about 12 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 31). 

The suspect, Stephen Noah Dawkins (b/m, DOB: 9-30-89), is charged with capital murder in the 178th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Altovise M. Mahone, 27, of the above address.  Ms. Mahone suffered head wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported: 

Ms. Mahone was found deceased in her apartment by family members after not hearing from her for several days.  A preliminary investigation determined Mahone had been killed late Thursday evening (Dec. 29). 

Suspect Dawkins is believed to have fled in Mahone's vehicle, a red four-door,  2002 Chevrolet Impala, with Texas license plates BD3-B263.  It is believed he also stole other items from the apartment.
