Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7900 South Loop East

July 20, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7900 South Loop East #104 (South Interstate Highway 610) about 8 p.m. on Thursday (July 19).

The victim, Guillermo Lopez, 29, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B. Oxpring and Officer J. Dominguez reported: 

An unknown male suspect entered Mr. Lopez's apartment and shot him several times.  Lopez died at the scene.  Lopez's wife and three children, who were present at the time of shooting, were not injured.  Further investigation determined there was no forced entry to the apartment.

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting. 

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his late 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.
