Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2201 Hayes

July 23, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of a woman at 2201 Hayes about 11:45 a.m. on Saturday (July 21).

The identity of the male victim, 22, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Senior Police Officer X. Avila reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was in his apartment with his girlfriend when several unknown male suspects came in and shot them.  The male died at the scene.  The female was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and is expected to survive her wounds.  Witnesses then reported seeing the suspects flee in a small red four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Corolla.

The suspects are described only as several black males.
