July 23, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 5572 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 1:10 p.m. on Sunday (July 22).

The male victim, 50, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer B. Mark reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on the Gulf Freeway when he slowed down, slumped over and then fell off the motorcycle.  He was then transported to the hospital where he died.

No other vehicles were involved in this accident.
