June 11, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9600 Hempstead Highway about 11:40 p.m. last Friday (June 8).

The victim, Marcus Guerrero-Bacon, 28, of Katy, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Thomas and Officer L. Guzman reported:

Bacon was driving a silver Nissan Maxima at a high rate of speed southbound on the 610 West Loop South service road near the intersection of Hempstead Highway. At the intersection, he disregarded a turn only sign and drove onto and over a curb. The vehicle then struck train tracks and flipped several times. Bacon died at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
