Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3625 Tidwell

March 6, 2012 - The fatal shooting of a male at 3625 Tidwell about 12:50 a.m. today (March 6) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Insitute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Villareal and Officer J. Horn reported:

Officers were dispatched to an assault in-progress call at a motel at the above location and discovered a male deceased inside the lobby.  Witnesses stated the male was acting erratically in the parking lot and causing damage to a motorcycle and a vehicle.  They said the male entered the lobby of the motel office and destroyed furniture.  The motel manager told the male on at least two occasions to leave the property, but the male refused to leave and continued to act destructively and erratically toward the manager.  At that time, the manager, fearing for his safety and that of his family and patrons, shot the male, who died at the scene.
