Suspect Sought in Hit-and-Run Traffic Accident at 8800 Gulf Freeway

March 13, 2012 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in a hit-and-run traffic accident in the 8800 block of the Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 1:40 a.m. today.

The male victim, 29, suffered broken bones and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition.  His identity is being withheld pending notification to family members.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer R. Bymaster reported:

The victim was walking in the 8800 block of the Gulf Freeway service road eastbound when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Avalanche.  The Avalanche did not stop and fled the scene.  The victim was then transported to the hospital by HFD paramedics.
