Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at Bataan and Jutland

May 14, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at Bataan and Jutland about 1:10 p.m. on Saturday (May 12).

The suspect, Ashton Vincent Craven (b/m, DOB: 10-12-73) is charged with felony DWI in the 180th State District Court.  A photo of Craven is attached to this news release.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Usher and Officer C. Long reported: 

Craven was driving a green Ford Taurus and ran a stop sign at the intersection of Bataan and Jutland.  The Taurus then struck a white Toyota Corolla, driven by the female victim, who was five months pregnant.  The female was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and doctors later determined she lost her baby due to the accident.  Craven was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was treated and then transported to the HPD jail.
