Investigation into Fatal Shooting at South Gessner

May 14, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8111 South Gessner about 1 p.m. on Sunday (May 13).

The victim, Roy Valdez, 20, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W. Meeler and C. Howard reported:

Houston police officers responded to a reported shooting call at the Taquera Cancun restaurant at the above address.  Upon arrival, they found a patron, Mr. Valdez, had been shot several times. 

Valdez was reportedly at the restaurant with four other Hispanic males.  These four, along with several other witnesses, fled the scene when the shooting began.  HPD investigators are asking all of these individuals to come forward and provide statements about what happened.
