Suspect Arrested, Charged in Woman's Death at 2139 Lake Hills Drive

May 21, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a woman at 2139 Lake Hills Drive about 9:45 a.m. last Saturday (May 19).

The suspect, Erick Charles Erminger (w/m, DOB: 4-6-68) is charged with murder in the 337th State District Court.  A photo of Erminger is attached to this news release.

The victim, Jennifer Lynette McKinley, 28, of the above address, suffered unknown trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her cause of death is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:

Suspect Erminger contacted his live-in girlfriend, Ms. McKinley, late Friday night and asked her to pick him up at a bar and give him a ride home as he was too intoxicated to drive. McKinley picked up Erminger and the two returned home.  Once there, the couple began arguing and Erminger killed McKinley.

McKinley's eight-year-old son was asleep in a separate bedroom but neither heard nor saw the killing take place.

The following morning, Erminger called his mother, saying he had killed McKinley and was going to commit suicide.  Erminger's mother called 911 and went to her son's apartment where responding HPD patrol officers arrested Erminger.

McKinley's son was placed in the care of his biological father.
