Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 516 Reid

May 29, 2012 - The fatal shooting of a man at 516 Reid about 11:45 p.m. on Saturday (May 26) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the male suspect, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers T. Andrade, B. Evans and Officer J. Horn reported:

The residents of the above address were home when they discovered their electricity had been cut off.  One resident walked outside to check the circuit breakers and was confronted by an armed male suspect.  While the resident was outside, a second suspect entered the home.  The second suspect was confronted by a resident inside the home and was shot multiple times.  The suspect was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The suspect by the breaker box fled the scene in an unknown direction.
