UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Others Sought in Fatal Shooting at 11939 Bissonnet

May 31, 2012 - Charges have been filed against one suspect arrested and two others wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 11939 Bissonnet about 1 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2011.

Miguel Angel Rangel (H/m, DOB: 3-4-92) is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court and is in custody in the Harris County Jail. A second suspect, Ariel Montoya (3-10-94), with numerous aliases of Kevin Molina (DOB: 3-10-93, 12-17-93), Arial Posada, Ariel Molina, and "Katracho," is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the same court and remains at large. A third suspect, a juvenile male, also wanted for his involvement in this incident, remains at large.

All three suspects are charged in the killing of Luis Armando Rodriguez, 18, of Houston, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers D. W. Arnold and C. T. Hufstedler reported:

Mr. Rodriguez was walking through the parking lot of the Royal Palace party hall at the above location. A beige or gray sports utility vehicle, believed to be a GMC Envoy or Chevrolet Trailblazer, drove by and several shots were fired from the driver's side window. Rodriguez was fatally struck.

Further investigation and witness statements identified Rangel and Montoya as the suspects in this case. On Tuesday (May 29), Rangel was arrested by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force without incident.
