Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 10100 North Freeway

November 19, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 10100 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 18).

The suspect, Jennifer Nicole Molina (H/f, DOB: 6-6-91), is charged with intoxication manslaughter and accident involving injury or death in the 184th State District Court.  She is accused in the death of a female motorist, 34, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A photo of suspect Molina is attached to this news release.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Shaw and Officer I. Jefferson reported:

Molina was driving a blue Nissan Versa north on the service road at the above location when she failed to control the speed of her vehicle and struck the rear of a green Honda Civic.  The impact forced the Honda into a large concrete pillar.  The driver of the Honda was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Molina then lost control of her vehicle, crashed through a chain link fence and came to a final rest in a business parking lot.  She immediately called a family member who picked her up and drove her from the scene moments after the crash.  After nearly an hour had passed, Molina's family member convinced her to return to the accident scene.  When she returned, Molina was arrested without incident.
