Investigation into Incident at 6700 Airline Drive

October 8, 2012 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which a Houston police officer was struck by stray gunfire in the 6700 block of Airline Drive about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 7).


The officer suffered a superficial wound and did not require medical assistance.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Jewell and Senior Police Officer M. Miller reported:

The officer was conducting a traffic stop in the 6700 block of Airline Drive when he was hit by stray gunfire from nearby. Further investigation determined a robbery had just occurred in the 6300 block of Airline and, at some point, shots were fired. The victim of the robbery was not injured and the suspect(s) remain at large.
