Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 6800 West Montgomery

October 29, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6800 West Montgomery about 5:20 p.m. last Friday (Oct. 26).

The male victim, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer P. Kong reported:

A male was driving a silver Dodge pickup truck south on West Montgomery when he ran a red light at Wilburforce and struck a green Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. The two vehicles were then pushed into a red Chevrolet pickup truck waiting at the red light. The driver of the green Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge truck was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the red Chevrolet was uninjured. A preliminary investigation indicates intoxication was not a factor in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
