Suspect Arrested, Charged in Man's Death at 6210 North Wayside

September 17, 2012 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in a man's death at 6210 North Wayside about 2 a.m. on Sept. 6.

Jaquan Ondray Bogany (b/m, DOB: 11-11-84) is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Joseph Eugene Brooks, 60, of Houston, who was pronounced dead last Thursday (Sept. 13).  A photo of suspect Bogany is attached to this news release. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rohling and Officer J. Harvey reported:

Officers responded to a report of a person down call in the parking lot of the above address and found Mr. Brooks had suffered third degree burns over more than half his body and broken facial bones.  He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died.

Further investigation led to the identification of Bogany as a suspect in this case and, on Saturday (Sept. 15), he was arrested and confessed to his role in Brooks' death.  Bogany stated he went to the above location with the intent of assaulting and burning the victim.
