UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing at 8000 North Freeway

September 17, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 8000 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 9.

The suspect, Octavio Daniel Figueroa (H/m, DOB: 1-18-89), is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Manuel Ignacio Iracheta, 20, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Senior Police Officer J. Villareal reported:

A Harris County Sheriff's deputy observed an accident scene that escalated into an assault.  The deputy detained several people and later saw the victim breathing heavily on the ground.  The victim appeared to have been stabbed in the chest.  He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Investigators detained and questioned several people.

The investigation revealed Figueroa was the suspect who stabbed Mr. Iracheta and he admitted to his role in the incident.
