April 3, 2013 - The fatal shooting of a man at 9919 Richmond Avenue about 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday (April 2) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Officers D. Fontenot and J. Dominguez reported:

Officers responded to a shooting in-progress call at the above location and found a male deceased in front of one of the apartment doors. Witnesses stated they heard several gun shots and then saw the male run across the parking lot before he collapsed.

It was later learned the male was a suspect wounded while in the process of committing an aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
