April 8, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1500 block of the West Loop South (West Interstate Highway 610) about 11:15 p.m. on Saturday (April 6).

The identity of the male victim, 27, of Houston, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer L. Galvan reported:

The victim was operating a black Yamaha R6 motorcycle northbound on the West Loop South service road when he lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle. Witnesses reported the victim was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
