Investigation Into Man Found Deceased at 5904 Westpark

April 8, 2013 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 5904 Westpark about 9:30 a.m. last Friday (April 5).

The victim's identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer M. Waters II and Officer J. Rexroad reported:

The victim was found in a load of trash being sorted at the above address, a City of Houston trash transfer facility, by a crane operator conducting the sorting and transfer of trash brought to the facility. The only visible injuries to the victim are consistent with him being among trash inside a dumpster emptied and compacted into the garbage truck.

The victim has not been positively identified. He is described as a black male, 55 to 65 years of age, possibly from California, and believed to be a homeless man who frequented the McDonald's restaurant on Main Street in downtown Houston.
