Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 10800 South Gessner

April 22, 2013 - The fatal shooting of an armed robbery suspect at 10800 South Gessner about 9 p.m. last Friday (April 19) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The suspect, Louis Michael Albert, 19, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Officer K. Daignault reported:

A 23-year-old male, along with his girlfriend and their infant son, drove to a parking lot at the above location to buy cellphones from someone they did not know.  Several suspects, described only as black males, arrived for the meeting.  One of them, armed with a loaded shotgun, attempted to enter the male's vehicle and rob him.  The male, in the back seat with his infant son, was unable to exit the vehicle because of child safety locks.  He produced a pistol and fired at the robbery suspect, killing him.

The remaining suspects fled the scene.
