Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7700 Katy Freeway

August 8, 2013 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7700 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 6).

The suspect, Frederick Curtis Wilson II (b/m, DOB: 10-24-84), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Jaime Ceballos-Garcia, 32, of Houston, who was pronounced dead at the scene. A photo of Wilson is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Officers K. Daignault and N. Rosenblatt reported:

Mr. Ceballos-Garcia was traveling eastbound on the Katy Freeway and called police to report an unknown suspect's reckless driving behavior. As Ceballos-Garcia was exiting the freeway at Silber Road, the suspect's vehicle pulled alongside of his vehicle and the suspect fired at least one time. Ceballos-Garcia was struck and died at the scene.

Further investigation developed information on a license plate of the suspect's vehicle tha led to the identity of Wilson as the suspect in this case. He was arrested on Wednesday (Aug. 7) without incident.
