Investigation into Man Found Deceased at 8900 Ramin

August 19, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 8900 Ramin about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 17).

The victim, 55, suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Odom and Officer M. Coleman reported:

The victim was driving a black Chevrolet pickup truck that appeared to have been involved in an earlier accident at an unknown location. The victim stopped a short distance from his residence and got into in an altercation with an unknown suspect or suspects. During the disturbance, the passenger window of his pickup truck was broken. The victim then backed the vehicle down the street and into a ditch. The victim left his vehicle and then began walking toward his residence. While walking, he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle driven by an unknown driver. The driver then fled the scene.

Witnesses driving southbound on Ramin found the victim lying in the street and called 9-1-1. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.
