Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3700 South Barker Cypress

December 3, 2013 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the fatal shooting of a man found at 3700 South Barker Cypress about 8 a.m. today.

The deceased male, in his mid 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Howard and Officer R. Lujan reported:

A motorist driving near the above address found the victim and notified Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constables who were in the park. Precinct 5 deputies arrived and learned the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

There were no signs of foul play and, at this time, appears to be a suicide.

The investigation is pending the victim's cause of death.
