Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 1000 Normandy

December 23, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at 1000 Normandy about 7:10 p.m. last Friday (Dec. 20).

The identity of the male victim, believed to be in his 30s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer O. Bledsoe reported:

Witnesses stated the victim, who was not at a crosswalk, was struck by the driver of an unknown white vehicle while crossing the street on a bicycle at the above address. The vehicle fled the scene. The male was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
