Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Woman's Death at 2415 Francis

February 5, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in thedeath of a woman found at 2415 Francis about noon last Saturday (Feb. 2).

The suspect, Harvey L. Davis (b/m, DOB: 6-24-59) is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Linda Spells, 53, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Biggs and Senior Police Officer R. Bolton reported:

The female victim was found in the back yard of a residence connected to a church next door. She was partially clothed and had no identification on her.

An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences identified the victim as Linda Spells. Her cause of death was ruled strangulation.

Further investigation developed Davis as being with Ms. Spells just prior to her death. During questioning by homicide investigators, Davis admitted to his role in Spells' death.
