Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 10000 Fairland Drive

February 20, 2012 - A man critically injured in a traffic accident at 10000 Fairland Drive about 3:40 a.m. on January 29 has died.

The male victim, 53, of Houston, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital on Monday (Feb. 18). His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer A. Hart reported:

A gray Honda Accord was traveling north on Fairland and ran the stop sign at the intersection with Sunbeam. The Honda struck a green Mazda pickup truck traveling east on Sunbeam. Both vehicles came to rest on the front lawn of a residence in the 3400 block of Sunbeam. The driver of the Accord and his passenger were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital while the driver of the Mazda and two passengers (one of them the victim) were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing with no charges filed at this time.
