HPD patrol officers responded to an assault in-progress call at Vara's Sports Bar at the above address.  According to witnesses, three male suspects entered the bar and attempted to force a female to dance with one of the suspects.  Another person at the bar (Solis) intervened and told the suspects the female had a boyfriend at the bar.  One of the suspects then exited the bar, went to a vehicle and retrieved a handgun.  The suspect went back inside the bar, confronted Solis and then shot him in the leg.  When Solis attempted to walk away, the suspect again approached him and shot him several times.  Solis collapsed and died at the scene.

The suspects, described only as three Hispanic males, fled the scene in a silver sedan of unknown make or model.
