July 5, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 5000 block of the West Loop South (South Interstate Highway 610) about 2 a.m. on Thursday (July 4).
The male victim, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Tapia and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:
The victim was operating a black Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on the Southwest Freeway at a high rate of speed and took the West Loop southbound exit ramp. The motorcycle failed to stay in a single lane and struck a concrete wall along the exit ramp. The victim was ejected and fell onto the ground below. He died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
